Talisman

Another week in BJ so not much gaming done this week. However, a very exciting week for gaming news - for me anyway.

One of my favourite board games when I was a kid was Talisman. I used to love this game - my brother and I even created some of our own content for it! I even bought most of the expansion packs for it and it was one of the rare things that I kept when I moved to HK from the UK many years ago.

Although I don't play the board game anymore (no time and no space - with all those expansion packs, you need a ton of room!) - I have never thrown out the board game. I just couldn't do it. The thing is too much a part of my childhood.

So you can imagine how excited I am to hear that Capcom is bringing Talisman to Xbox Live!

I don't have many games from Xbox Live - however, this could well be the game to make me buy loads of Microsoft points in expectation for the game and its inevitable expansions!

Cool! I've still got old memories of this - its been a long time though - remember taking up a large section of floor to play once we got all the expansion sets out - and it took bloody ages...

...still, good fun when we were younger and had the time!

Yeah - I remember part of the reason it took ages was that we never wanted to go for the Crown of Command until we were invincible!

We used to wander round with 20 strength and laugh at the dragons who used to terrify us with 7 strength!! This was especially funny as one of the expansion sets gave a set of random cards instead of the Crown of Command. One of these was the Belt of Hercules which gave you 12 Strength - our characters just laughed at this!

Do you remember that we created some of our own cards? I recall you created a tidal flood which cleared the board of everything. You also created a dinosaur which had 20 strength and was the only thing that could stand against us in the latter stages.

Good times...
